Air Force says to expect increased military flight activity in central Arizona

You might notice more military aircraft flying around central Arizona for the next few weeks.

Air Force officials say areas around Luke Air Force Base and the Barry M. Goldwater Range complex will have increased air activity from Nov. 27 to Dec. 11.

Luke AFB is west of the Valley. The Barry M. Goldwater Range is between Yuma and Tucson, south of I-8. These areas might experience higher levels of noise.

There will be night an weekend training operations as Luke AFB hosts Forging Sabre, an exercise that takes place every two years.

The exercise involves members of the Republic Singapore Armed Forces, so they can train in a unique environment to practice command, control and execution.

F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-15E Strike Eagle and Heron 1UAS are the aircraft involved.
