PHOENIX - The only Hamilton High School hazing suspect to be charged as an adult, Nathaniel Thomas, appeared before a judge on Monday morning with his attorney, Cindy Castillo.
Castillo has replaced Thomas' former attorney Ken Countryman, who filed a motion to remove himself as the teen's attorney, citing irreconcilable differences with his client's mother.
The judge vacated a Dec. 15 settlement conference hearing and instead scheduled a Dec. 13 status conference. Countryman was also ordered to share Thomas' case file with his new attorney.
Thomas is one of three suspects charged in a case stemming from sexual assault and hazing allegations. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in April.
So far six victims have come forward claiming various incidents allegedly happening inside the varsity football locker room.
