Scottsdale school cook arrested for sexually luring a child

TEMPE, Ariz. - A cook at a Scottsdale school was arrested last week after he had a sexually explicit online chat with a person he believed was a 14-year-old girl.

Instead, it was Tempe police.

According to police, Michael Brown "stated multiple sexual comments about having sex with what he believed to be the 14 year old female."

A Tempe PD spokesperson said Brown, a now-former Scottsdale Unified School District employee, also sent explicit videos and pictures of himself.

During the chat, he said he knew her supposed age and he could go to jail if he was caught, police said.

Brown was arrested June 1 when he agreed to meet the 14-year-old girl near McClintock and Broadway roads with the expectation of a sexual encounter. He admitted sending at least one photo and discussing sex in the chat.

An SUSD spokesperson said the district hired Brown in 2005 and as of Wednesday, he was no longer employed by the district.
