Reward offered for armed food truck robber

PHOENIX - Phoenix Police and Silent Witness are offering a reward to find an armed young man who robbed a food truck and a couple who tried to rob a Home Depot.

The couple walked in the Hope Depot on Thunderbird and 26th Avenue on September 2, 2017. They grabbed a shopping cart and loaded it up with powers tools.

"And when they try and leave, they make no effort to pay," said Sgt. Jamie Rothschild, who's with Silent Witness. "And one of the employees sees that and tries to stop them. And that's when our male suspect reaches towards his back and says that he has a gun, so the employee backs off."

Sgt. Rothschild said that's when it appears the two left the tools behind, ran into the parking lot and sped away in a black Dodge Charger.

The other case happened on June 29, 2017, when a young man forced his way into a food truck near Indian School and 33rd Avenue.

Police said the man stole cash from a tip jar and a lockbox, then took off.

If you recognize any of the three people, you're asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. You can remain anonymous and receive a reward of up to $1,000.
