PHOENIX - A mother and daughter were stabbed Thursday night by the daughter's ex-boyfriend at a Phoenix apartment, according to police.
The women are both in critical but stable condition at the hospital, a police spokesman said Friday.
The ex-boyfriend went to the daughter's home near Indian School Road and 35th Avenue and the two got into an argument before he stabbed her, police said. The woman's mother tried to intervene and the man stabbed her, too.
Officers responded to the scene around 9 p.m. and the women were taken by medical personnel to the hospital.
The man fled on foot and police are still searching for him.
Police have not released the ages or identities of the victims or the suspect.
