Man sexually abused Uber driver as she drove on Loop 202, police say

Police arrested Danny Hale, who allegedly sexually assaulted an Uber driver as she was driving on Loop 202.

‚ÄčTempe police arrested a man early Sunday morning for sexually abusing an Uber driver while she drove on Loop 202.

Danny Hale, 35, faces sexual abuse charges in the case.

According to police, the victim was driving Hale from Gilbert to Scottsdale with Hale in the front passenger seat.

The victim told police Hale reached over while she drove west on Loop 202 near McClintock Drive and grabbed her arm. After she pushed him away, he grabbed both of her breasts. She pushed him away again and he reached into her lap.

She pulled over, told him to get out and called 911.

He was arrested around 12:30 a.m. Hale admitted to touching the woman, but said he did it to calm her down.

Police documents state Hale was "obviously heavily intoxicated."
