Man accused of kidnapping 94-year-old woman held on $1 million bond

Ian Michael Nielsen is facing charges of second degree attempted murder, kidnapping, burglary, theft as a means of transportation and robbery.

PHOENIX - The man accused of robbing and kidnapping a 94-year-old woman last week from her home is being held on a $1 million dollar bond at Fourth Avenue Jail.

Ian Michael Nielsen said only a few words during his entire initial appearance Wednesday morning. His preliminary hearing is set for November 27 at 8:45 a.m.

He is facing charges of second degree attempted murder, kidnapping, burglary, theft as a means of transportation and robbery. 

The judge said he is not allowed to contact the victim or the officers who arrested him. He can’t possess weapons. He also can’t go back to the scene.
