Glendale PD: 2 women sexually assaulted by fake police officer

Glendale police are looking for a suspect who may have sexually assaulted two women near 54th Avenue and Columbine Road.

GLENDALE, Ariz. - A man lured two women contacted through online ads to a park and sexually assaulted both while posing as a police officer, Glendale police said in a Monday release.

The first incident was around 11 p.m. Sept. 5. The victim was an escort who placed an ad online and met the man at a park near 54th Avenue and Columbine Road, where he told her he was an officer who had been following her, she told investigators.

He said he'd let her go without arrest if she cooperated, then proceeded to sexually assault her in the park, she said.

She described the suspect as a 5-foot-9, 170-pound white man with dark short hair and a patchy beard, wearing a light-colored T-shirt, skinny jeans and prescription glasses. She estimated he was in his late 20s.

The second victim went to the same area to meet a man through an online ad Nov. 9, 2017. She told investigators that the man who met her said he was a police officer and that he would let her go without arrest if she cooperated, then sexually assaulted her multiple times in the park.

She described the man with similar build and age, saying he had a light complexion with a chin-strap beard. He was wearing a white hoodie with black drawstrings and black sweatpants.

Police believe the suspect in both assaults is the same man, based on similarities in the cases.
