14-year-old driver facing first-degree murder charges after fatal crash

The teen driver involved in fiery crash that killed three people in a juvenile correction facility facing three counts of first degree murder.

Phoenix police are recommending that Maricopa County officials charge the 14-year-old driver in a fiery crash last week with three counts of first-degree murder.

Three people were killed in the crash, and the teen was driving a stolen SUV, police said.

Police also recommended two counts each of aggravated assault and endangerment, as well as one count of felony flight and, one of car theft.

Phoenix PD released the recommendations Monday, adding that the suspect had been released from the hospital and sent to the a juvenile correctional center.
