A strong ridge across the western half of the country will deliver some of the warmest temperatures we've seen so far in 2018 on Thursday.

More cloud cover will move in along with windy conditions in advance of our next storm system. So far this year, we have not hit the 90-degree mark, and due to the increased cloud cover, we should stay just shy of that mark.

A few showers will be possible across the High Country by Thursday night with small rain chances arriving in the Valley by Friday morning. Rain totals will be very light and not impressive.

The weekend will be dry and sunny with seasonal temperatures.

Looking ahead to next week, we'll see another cool down by Tuesday and Wednesday due to an upper level low over the Southwest, which will give us a 10-percent chance for a shower both days.

THURSDAY: 61/89 heating up, but clouds thicken with 25 mph gusts

FRIDAY: 64/80 30% chance for a.m. showers

SATURDAY: 59/79 sunshine, 20 mph gusts

SUNDAY: 55/76 sunny, 20 mph gusts

MONDAY: 53/71 sunny

TUESDAY: 52/70 10% rain

WEDNESDAY: 51/71 10% rain
