Fun facts about University of Phoenix Stadium as a Final Four venue

How does the University of Phoenix Stadium rank among Final Four venues?

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- South Carolina coach Frank Martin told his team they aren't playing against the stadium.

Good thing.

This weekend's Final Four games will be played in front of 76,000 fans inside University of Phoenix Stadium, the home of the Arizona Cardinals.

So just how big is it?

Here are some fun facts:

• It could be the second largest capacity for a Final Four ever, behind only AT&T Stadium in Dallas, which seats close to 80,000 for basketball and was used for the 2014 Final Four.

• The stadium's giant hanging scoreboard is 70-feet across, and is equivalent to a 3,000 square foot house.

• To ensure every fan gets the sneaker-squeaking, rim-rocking experience, there are microphones placed near the each rim and on the floor.

• The court is elevated about 2 1/2 feet on a laser-leveled deck system. This stage-like riser helps sight lines for fans and there's plenty of room for players to stop if they run too far.
