SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Just when you thought four high school state championships in a row was crazy - the Saguaro Sabercats football team is on the "drive to five."

This would make Saguaro the first high school in Arizona history to win five state championships for football in a row.

As spring ball wraps up, the Sabercats are already thinking ahead toward the fall. Despite graduating 30 seniors this spring, including 3 Pac-12 offensive lineman, the team isn't skipping a beat.

"You think losing all of those kids would make things slow down," head coach Jason Mohns said. "But all it did was make the younger kids hungrier to pick up where those guys left off."

In fact, rumor has it that the 2019 class might just be as good as the 2017 class.

"I think there may be as many Division I scholarships in this 2019 class as the last," Mohns said.

Regardless, the team is hungry for more.

"Nobody is going to outwork us between now and August 18 when we kickoff our first game," Mohns said. "These kids are hungry and we're going to continue to grind."
