Meet Antonio: Crazy about cars in any form

Taking laps in a lightning-quick electric go-kart at K1 Speed Phoenix was heaven on Earth for Antonio.

Ten-year-old Antonio is crazy about cars of every shape and size and style.

He loves Legos because he can build cars. He likes to read books about cars. He says he likes Transformers toys, movies and television shows “because they turn into cars.”

So, taking laps in a lightning-quick electric go-kart at K1 Speed Phoenix was heaven on Earth for Antonio.

“When I grow up I want to be a racecar driver,” he said, adding, “My favorite type of car is a Mustang. And a Lamborghini.”

Antonio likes going to school and says math is his favorite subject.

“Antonio would do best in a family where he is the youngest child,” said Heather Pava, a youth Advocate with Christian Family Care.

Antonio, she adds, will need parents willing to work hard with him on his school work and have experience with children with special needs.

“He needs someone who will advocate for him to get the services he needs,” Pava said.

Antonio says he is excited about the coming holidays, but doesn’t really have a long wish list.

“All I want for Christmas is a family,” he said. “And more Legos. If I had a family I would feel happy.”
