14-year-old arrested after threats to students at Casa Grande high school

Police say the incident occurred Wednesday at Cactus Middle School in Casa Grande.

CASA GRANDE, AZ – The Casa Grande Police Department has arrested a 14-year-old student for allegedly making threats to “shoot up the school,” according to police.

Police say the incident occurred Wednesday at Cactus Middle School in Casa Grande.

According to officials, the CGPD was made aware of the threats on Feb. 21 after students notified school staff of the teen's threats and behavior.

No students or staff were injured and no weapons were actually located on the teen.

The school district sent an email to parents about the incident, according to police.

Officials say the teen was booked into the Pinal County Juvenile Detention Center yesterday and charges of Threats and Intimidation will be forwarded to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for review.
