Man trying to get hired as child services investigator arrested for child porn

Court documents state the suspect owned a hard drive that contained over 2,200 images and videos depicting child pornography.

A man facing 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor was in the hiring process to become an investigator the Arizona Department of Children Services in the human trafficking division, according to court paperwork.

Officers arrested Paul Stanley Sappington, 48, on February 14 in Mesa, Arizona, after tracing files containing child pornography to his computer, the documents said.

In an interview with police, the suspect admitted to viewing and downloading child pornography, and said he had watched it just two days before he was arrest, the Form IV said. The suspect also admitted to police that he watches bestiality videos on a "daily basis."

Using a search warrant, officers discovered a laptop and an external hard drive, the court paperwork said. They found over 2,200 images and videos depicting child pornography in the recycling bin of the hard drive. The videos depicted children ranging in age from infancy to prepubescent, according to the Form IV.

In addition to trying to become hired as a ADCS investigator, Suppington also lived with his girlfriend and her three children, ages 9, 10 and 17.
