How to spot signs of a potentially dangerous package

In light of the Austin bombings, you can never be too careful.

As people in Austin, Texas are on edge worrying about the packages delivered to their homes and their work, the truth is there could be copycats and it can happen anywhere.

Retired Federal Law Enforcement and Military EOD Anthony May says to watch for these warning signs:

-Excessive postage stamps

-No delivery slip

-Misspellings or handwritten addresses or notes

-No return address

-Excessive tape and strings

-Odor or stains

-Package seems lopsided

Another question to ask yourself is: Were the stamps marked out by a postal service indicating it was in fact delivered by a mail service?

A dangerous package can be small. If something seems suspicious, don't touch or move the package, keep others away and have law enforcement take a look.
