If you're looking for a great snack for your holiday parties this year, our own Paul Gerke is sharing the recipe of his family-favorite Chex Mix.
Here's everything you need to know to make your own batch:
1 box Corn Chex
1 box Rice Chex
1 box Cheerios
1 box bran Chex
2 boxes/bags of pretzel sticks
2 boxes Cheez-Its
2 lbs of mixed nuts
2 lbs butter
1/3 cup garlic powder
¼ cup Lawry’s seasoning salt
½ cup of Worcestershire sauce
Combine butter, garlic powder, seasoning salt, and Worcestershire sauce in pot. Slowly heat until thoroughly melted
Put all other ingredients into a large roasting pan
Slowly drizzle about ¼ cup of the butter mixture over the dry ingredients in the roasting pan.
Place pan in oven at 250 degrees
Every ten minutes, remove pan and drizzle another ¼ cup of butter mixture over the cereal. Be sure to mix thoroughly.
Repeat process until mixture is gone; approximately 60-70 minutes total time in oven
When finished, spread Chex Mix on wax paper and let cool. Store in gallon size Ziploc bags and enjoy!
