Thank you for visiting for the weekend traffic updates for July 7-10, 2017. Commuters will have to detour around a couple closures in the Valley this weekend.

The first closure is in the West Valley, I-10 westbound is closed at 59th Avenue for a Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange construction project, Friday 10 p.m. – Monday 5 a.m. In addition to this closure the I-10 westbound on-ramps at 43rd and 51st avenues are closed. Drivers can exit and re-enter I-10 using the off- and on-ramps at 59th Avenue. However, please consider alternate routes to avoid heavy traffic, such as the Loop 101 westbound and southbound west of I-17.

The final closure of the weekend has been an ongoing project in Phoenix on different parts of the I-17. This weekend the I-17 southbound is closed between the I-10 "Stack" interchange and 19th Avenue for lane striping on the new rubberized asphalt pavement, Friday 10 p.m. till Monday 5 a.m.

In addition to this closure, both I-10 ramps to I-17 southbound at the Stack will be closed. However, the I-17 southbound ramps to I-10 will remain open. Expect heavier traffic and consider alternate routes, including SR 51 southbound to the downtown area. Local traffic can detour along I-17 southbound frontage road, but allow extra travel time as a lot of commuters will be traveling the same road.

It’s another hot weekend and the Diamondbacks are back in town taking on the Cincinnati Reds, so catch a game and stay cool!
