Weekend traffic report for March 26 - March 29

We have a few closures and detours this weekend. Vanessa Ramirez has the details for your traffic report.

PHOENIX — Here’s a breakdown of the closures and restrictions you can expect to see around the Valley this weekend. 

North Valley

  • Loop 101 eastbound is closed between SR 51 and 56th Street for widening project from Friday 10 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m. SR 51 ramps to Loop 101 eastbound are closed and Loop 101 eastbound on-ramps at Cave Creek Road and Tatum Boulevard are closed as well. Detours include using SR 51 southbound to eastbound Union Hills Drive, northbound Tatum Boulevard, eastbound Mayo Boulevard and northbound 56th Street. Drivers north of Loop 101 can consider using eastbound Deer Valley Road to southbound 56th Street to reach Loop 101.

East Valley

  • U.S. 60 westbound right three lanes are closed between Rural Road and I-10 in Tempe for survey work on Saturday 10 p.m. until Sunday 9 a.m. and then again Sunday 8 p.m. until Monday 4 a.m. US 60 westbound primary ramp to I-10 is closed. However, US 60 westbound HOV lane ramp to I-10 westbound will remain open. US 60 westbound on-ramps at Rural Road and Mill Avenue are closed. Alternate routes include westbound Broadway or Baseline roads.
  • Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) is restricted with intermittent rolling closures in both directions overnight in areas between I-10 and Kyrene Road in Chandler for Salt River Project overhead utility line work from Saturday 7 p.m. until Sunday 4 a.m. All I-10 ramps to Loop 202 eastbound are closed. I-10 drivers can consider using Chandler Boulevard as an alternate route.
  • Loop 202 eastbound (Santan Freeway) off-ramp at Val Vista Drive and westbound off-ramp at Gilbert Road are closed for interchange construction from Friday 10 p.m. until noon Saturday. Loop 202 eastbound right lane is closed between Lindsay Road and Val Vista Drive. Westbound right lane closed between Lindsay and Gilbert roads.

West Valley

  • Loop 101 southbound restricted with overnight rolling lane closures in areas between Thunderbird Road and I-10 for lane striping from Sunday through Tuesday nights from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
