The I-10 westbound is closed between 43rd and 59th avenues from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. for the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway construction. Drivers can detour using the surfaces streets including McDowell or Van Buren to access I-10 westbound after 59th avenue. Commuters can also use Loop 101 in the West Valley to avoid delays.
A number of entrance ramps near the freeway closures will also be closed to traffic. The I-10 westbound on-ramps at 27th, 35th and 43rd avenues will be closed Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. In addition to those closures, the I-17 southbound off-ramp at McDowell Road and southbound I-17 ramp to I-10 westbound will be closed. Consider exiting I-17 southbound at Thomas Road and going west to travel beyond the I-10 closure.
The I-10 westbound is closed between the “Split” near the airport and the I-17 “Stack” south of McDowell Friday from 9 p.m. until Saturday 10 p.m. for work to repair a deck joint above the Deck Park Tunnel. I-10 westbound traffic will detour to I-17 northbound near downtown Phoenix. In addition to that closure, the SR 51 southbound ramp to westbound I-10 is closed. Loop 202 westbound traffic will have access to I-10 westbound but must exit at 7th Street and use alternate westbound routes including McDowell Road. Traffic entering the I-10 westbound from the west ramp at Sky Harbor will be limited to accessing northbound SR 51 or eastbound Loop 202.
A reminder that 59th Avenue and Southern Avenue is closed now until March of this year. This closure takes place due to the South Mountain Freeway Construction. Some alternate roads to consider are Broadway or Baseline between 51st and 67th avenues
