PHOENIX - Although it appears to be only 19th in the country when it comes to commute time -- with an average commute of 45 minutes -- Phoenix ranks in the top five when it comes to driving stress levels, according to a new survey.
The survey, conducted by staffing firm Robert Half, ranked Phoenix as having the fourth most stressful commute behind only Los Angeles, Miami and Austin.
The city's average commute time of 45 minutes was less than the national average at 49 minutes. According to the results, 37 percent of Phoenix professionals think the commute is too long.
Washington D.C. drivers have the longest commute time averaging just over an hour on the road.
The company surveyed more than 2,700 professionals in 27 major U.S. cities.
