PHOENIX - The Arizona Department of Transportation said Interstate 10 will be closed at 59th Avenue in Phoenix for construction work on the bridge at the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange.

Closures began Sunday night on westbound I-10 at 59th Avenue at 9 p.m. and reopened at 5 a.m. Monday morning, ADOT said. It will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Wednesday morning. Eastbound I-10 will also be closed overnight at 59th Avenue from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.

ADOT said traffic will detour along the off- and on-ramps at 59th Avenue during the closure times.

Drivers should plan ahead and consider alternate routes, including Loop 101 west of Interstate 17 or exiting I-10 sooner, ADOT said.
