MESA, Ariz. — The city of Mesa wants to know what residents are willing to do to reduce the community's energy use and protect natural resources.

A new community survey is now available to complete online until Jan. 28 regarding Mesa's new climate action plan.

Respondents will be asked what types of sustainability initiatives Mesa should prioritize in the future and what residents are willing to do to help the city accomplish its climate-friendly goals.

Food waste, rising temperatures, shrinking water supplies, and air quality are some of the topics explored in the city's survey.

“As Mesa grows, it’s important that we build on our history of implementing sustainable practices so that we can pass along a city that is healthy at every level,” said Mesa Mayor John Giles. “I urge all Mesa residents to get involved in this effort, and to take the survey to share feedback and ideas to help shape our next steps.”

Input gathered through the survey will help city officials outline how Mesa's climate plan will take shape in the future.

More information on Mesa's climate plan can be found on the city's website.
