Internet not happy about German skater skating to music from 'Schindler’s List'

Some felt it wasn't the best choice.

As German figure skater Nicole Schott finished her free skate program, Twitter filled with unhappy users. Most were not thrilled by her music choice.

Schott skated to music from the 1993 film “Schindler’s List," about a German industrialist who saves thousands of Jewish lives during the Holocaust by employing them in his factories.

The film's score was composed by the famous John Williams. It won several Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director, for Steven Spielberg, and Best Original Score.

But despite the movie's popularity and well-known soundtrack — many felt Schott's music choice wasn't, to put it lightly, the best choice.

However, a quick search shows skating to "Schindler's List" isn't unheard of in the sport. It appears another German skater, two-time Olympic gold medalist Katarina Witt, even skated to it in 1994.

And just four years ago in Sochi, Yulia Lipnitskaya helped Team Russian win the gold in the figure skating team event with her program set to the score.
