GLENDALE, Ariz. - We're less than a week away from Coyotes hockey, and the team is ready to get things going.

"This year it looks like we'll have a couple more young guys step in. There is an energy those young players bring and we want to continue to build this team and get ourselves so we can be a contender," said head coach Dave Tippett.

A lot of the Coyotes success this season will ride on the backs of their young prospects.

"These young players, the quicker they can get up and going, the sooner we think we can get our team to be very competitive," said Tippett.

The Coyotes hope to play fast this season, and dictate the speed of the game in each contest.

They hope to capitalize on their mix of youth and experience.

"We're going to be young and full of energy," said Tippett. "We have those veteran guys that we feel can really help us. We want to build a team that's speed and skill."

The Coyotes drop the puck on their 2016 season October 15 when they host the Philadelphia Flyers.
