The Arizona Cardinals might be forced to make another change at starting quarterback.
Drew Stanton injured his right knee Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks, putting at risk his availability for next week against the Houston Texans.
Sources: Drew Stanton sprained knee Thursday. Blaine Gabbert starts at Houston week 11 if Stanton can’t go. Matt Barkley being brought back.— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) November 11, 2017
The injury likely happened when Stanton was hit low on a play in which Sheldon Richard was flagged for roughing the passer.
Stanton did not come out of the game, though he did limp a bit after the hit. If he can’t go, it will mean Gabbert’s 2017 debut, something many Cardinals fan have been hoping to see since Carson Palmer was injured.
No roster moves have been announced yet. Matt Barkley spent all of 2015 with the team, so he has a knowledge of the offense should he be pressed into action.
