Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians has not been pleased with the consistency of his two punters on the roster. He said recently he would give them time, but that the team could look for another.
They didn’t waste time in doing their homework.
Brock Miller thanked the Cardinals on his Twitter account for the workout.
Thanks @AZCardinals for the workout today! Hope to be back sometime soon!— Brock Miller (@hashtagbrock) August 9, 2017
Miller has never actually made an NFL roster, but has been trying since 2013. He is a product of Southern Utah and averaged more than 43 yards per punt in his final two seasons.
He most recently was on the San Francisco 49ers offseason roster.
According to NFL Draft Diamonds, Miller is a very good directional punter and is infamous for pinning the opponent deep in their territory.”
However, looking at Miller is like having Matt Wile and Richie Leone competing on the roster. Neither has won a training camp battle and have bounced around.
At minimum, this move should at least serve notice to Wile and Leone to let them know they better improve.
