The Arizona Cardinals will need a good game from a lot of different players to come out of Philadelphia with a win over the Eagles. A few need to play better than they have or do more than have previously done.
So far, he has been the weakest link in a weak offensive line. He was flagged for three holding penalties last week. That can’t happen this week. He gets a break in the sense that he will not have to line up against Fletcher Cox, but Beau Allen must be licking his chops to face the struggling converted guard.
He had nine receptions last week and more than 100 yards from scrimmage. He hasn’t had that sort of production since 2014 and has not looked this good since his rookie season in 2013.
But the Cardinals need a little more, especially in the running game. He isn’t getting many carries, but he might be the most important player on offense now with the absence of David Johnson, because of his versatility and ability to make big plays.
With Markus Golden now done for the season, Martin now becomes a starter. Golden did not have any sacks yet this season, but he was applying regular pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Martin must do that and be very strong on the edge against the run. That will be key. He has not played significantly on defense before. He needs to play well.
Reddick is making a move again. He now will be used as an outside linebacker in certain packages. He looked great the first two weeks of the season at inside linebacker, but his play and production have tailed off. Now he will be asked to do what he does best — rush the passer. As he is the only depth at outside linebacker, he needs to step up.
He had his season debut last week and looked rusty. Now, with Haason Reddick moving over to outside linebacker, Bucannon’s role increases. He will need to be more than fast against the Eagles. He will need to be productive.
