Basketball is a family affair for Shadow Mountain's Jaelen House

With Mike Bibby as his uncle and Eddie House as his father, how is Jaelen House continuing on the family legacy on the court?

PHOENIX - Shadow Mountain High School's Jaelen House is carrying on the family legacy on the basketball court.

Jaelen's father, Eddie House, is the all-time leading scorer at Arizona State University with 2,044 points in his career as a Sun Devil. He played in the NBA for over a decade.

"(Jaelen) has a love for the game just by being around it," Eddie House said.

Jaelen's uncle, Mike Bibby, won the 1997 NCAA Championship with the University of Arizona and played in the NBA for 14 seasons. Bibby is in his fifth season coaching at his high school alma mater.

"I treat all my players the same, whether it's my nephew, family or son," Mike Bibby said.

Basketball has revolved around Jaelen's life for as long as he can remember.

"I tried playing other sports but basketball kind of stuck," Jaelen House said.

House is a junior at Shadow Mountain High School and helped lead the Matadors to win their second consecutive title.

He is committed to play at Arizona State University in 2019.
