TEMPE, Ariz. - Koron Crump joined the Arizona State football team as a junior college transfer.
He's quickly become a force for the Sun Devils defense.
"He's probably our best defensive player right now, based on what we ask him to do," said defensive coordinator Keith Patterson.
Crump has 18 tackles and eight sacks so far this season.
His eight sacks are tied for second most in the country.
Crump's success has been all over the field.
"He played 68 defensive snaps, covered every punt, covered every kick and had all those sacks," said Patterson about Crump's effort against Washington State.
"What's so great about that kid is I show up Sunday, I had a recruit on campus, and I show up Sunday morning and he's the first guy you run into on the elevator," Patterson continued.
Crump is just a junior, and Patterson says he sees a world of potential in ASU's newest defensive star.
"Man, the sky's the limit for that guy."
