SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Arizona State Sun Devil hockey team is in Indiana this weekend to drop the puck on a new season of NCAA hockey.

ASU will begin their 2016 campaign against Notre Dame, a team ranked in the top-ten to start the season.

The Sun Devils hit the ice Thursday in South Bend for practice and a final tuneup before Friday's game.

The Fighting Irish are just one of seven NCAA Tournament teams the Sun Devils will play this season, as ASU will play their first, full NCAA schedule in program history.

Arizona State will play Notre Dame Friday and Saturday night.

If ASU can beat Notre Dame, it will be the first time the Sun Devils have beaten a ranked NCAA opponent.
