And you just thought "National Pumpkin Day" was a national holiday with pumpkin spice everything.

Turns out, it's universal.

NASA tweeted a photo Wednesday from a couple years ago that captured the sun doing its best jack-o-lantern impersonation.

"This image blends together two sets of wavelengths at 171 and 193 angstroms, typically colorized in gold and yellow, to create a particularly Halloween-like appearance," NASA wrote.

It's a really cool photo, but we can neither confirm or deny that the UFO seen over Phoenix Tuesday night isn't responsible for "carving" the sun.
