PHOENIX - The Maricopa County Animal Care and Control shelters are overcrowded and need to find forever homes for their furry friends before Halloween.
MCACC is offering free pet adoptions until October 31. The catch? People must come in wearing a Halloween costume.
There is a selection of furry friends, that will not be free and could cost you an adoption fee of $40, but that includes neutering, vaccinations, blood tests and microchips, according to MCACC spokesperson Jose Santiago.
12 News conducted a Facebook Live interview, and we met with some adorable furry friends: Jaime, Clark (We named him Clark.) and Lewis.
All three are looking for forever homes and will be available for adoption.
Lewis is one of MCACC's recent cases. He is a 5-year-old Chihuahua mix and a stray. At the moment, he looks very tiny and needs a family that is willing to put in the work to plump him up.
The community will be able to adopt adult dogs that are seven months and older.
