Sen. Jeff Flake reportedly told a group of reporters Monday that if it came down to a choice between Democrat Doug Jones or Judge Roy Moore in Alabama -- he'd "no doubt" vote for the former.
“I would literally -- if I were in Alabama -- I would run to the polling place to vote for the Democrat,” Flake said, according to The Washington Examiner.
Flakes comments came as a second woman alleged Moore, running for the former U.S. Senate seat of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, of sexually assaulting her when she was a teenager.
The Arizona senator has already been outspoken against Moore since allegations of sexual assault surfaced in a Washington Post report last week. Flake said the Republican nominee should step aside if the allegation were true.
He echoed that statement Monday, even supporting the idea of expelling Moore from the Senate if he were to win, according to the Washington Examiner. But added, he didn't think it would "get to that."
Moore has denied the allegations, but Flake said he believed the women, according to BuzzFeed News' Emma Loop.
Flake: "And now somebody else has come forward so, no, he ought to step aside."
Do you believe the women?
Flake: "Yes."— Emma Loop (@LoopEmma) November 13, 2017
