Hispanic community and business leaders rally for DACA

Arizona Hispanic business and community leaders host forum as part of the national iMarch for Immigration Campaign.

PHOENIX - A group of Hispanic community and business leaders hosted a public forum at Arizona State University to highlight the economic impact of immigrants in Arizona.

"DACA recipients are a crucial part of that story," said Lorenzo Sierra.

The forum was part of the national "iMarch for Immigration Campaign."

"I think legislation doesn't see the full picture and realize that people just want to contribute and opponents of the DREAM Act think that individuals like myself are just here to take from the government," said Cristal Zambrano Lopez.

Ni De Aqui, Ni De Alla restaurant owner Lorenzo Santillan said, "We contribute to this country. I pay taxes, I pay my dues and I do everything legally but I don't that social security card that's gonna give me the benefits that I deserve too."

Participants took turns discussing their perspective on DACA and immigrant contributions in the local economy.
