SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas - The teenage daughter of the pastor of a Texas church was among those killed in a church shooting Sunday.

Fourteen-year-old Annabelle Pomeroy was inside the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs when a gunman opened fire.

Her parents, Pastor Frank Pomeroy and his wife, Sherri, were out of town in two different states when the attack occurred.

Annabelle "was one very beautiful, special child,” Frank Pomeroy told ABC News.

In a text to the Associated Press, Sherri Pomeroy wrote, "We lost our 14-year-old daughter today and many friends. Neither of us have made it back into town yet to personally see the devastation. I'm at the Charlotte airport trying to get home as soon as I can."

Law enforcement have identified the shooter as 26-year-old Devin Patrick Kelley. He is dead, but it remains unclear how he was killed.
