PHOENIX - Police equipment and personal items were stolen from several police cars over the past couple of months, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
There were no signs of forced entry, leading police to believe the vehicles were unlocked. They were marked, unmarked and personal cars inside secured lots, according to police.
The first burglaries happened in January at the South Mountain Precinct Substation on East Broadway Road.
Items were stolen some time between 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 and 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, and again on Sunday, Jan. 25, between 6 and 11 p.m.
Several cars were also burglarized at the Central City Precinct on East Buckeye Road between 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 and 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4.
The weapons taken are:
1 AR-15 rifle
1 Taser
1 expandable police baton
2 large canisters of pepper spray
1 police-issued Glock handgun
1 pocket knife
