It's no secret that traveling during the holidays can be challenging, but GPS software company, Waze, has analyzed when the roads and airports will be the most congested this Thanksgiving.
Pre-holiday airport traffic expected to see a jump two days before thanksgiving, flying beforehand or day off may save some headaches. Those with return flights the Monday after Thanksgiving may want to brace themselves. According to Waze, Nov. 27 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. is the worst time to travel this year.
Hopefully you’ve purchased everything you need for holiday already, but if not there’s one day you want to avoid. Grocery stores will see the heaviest traffic at 3 p.m. the day before Thanksgiving.
Black Friday shopping
The GPS software says routes to stores are expected to peak from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on black Friday with 1 p.m. being the busiest time to be on the road and in the stores. So maybe the old adage is true; the early bird gets the worm.
