TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Tempe man is facing multiple counts of aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing another man in the head with a screwdriver.

Court records state that 28-year-old Muteeb Helal Al-Helal allegedly used a screwdriver to stab the victim behind his right ear as the man's friends recorded the incident from inside their car.

Al-Helal then reportedly tried to attack the friends, using the screwdriver to scratch their car and stab holes in a nearby apartment complex.

Police say Al-Helal was intoxicated and combative toward security, police officers and fire department crews who responded to the scene.

It was unclear Friday if Al-Helal has a lawyer yet for his case.
