AVONDALE, Ariz. - Pat Brocco lost 300 pounds just by willing himself to walk to Walmart for lunch every day.
That willpower turned the man formerly known as "Fat Pat" into "Possible Pat" because he showed himself and others what's possible if you just put your mind to something.
Brocco's story of inspiration landed him on "Ellen" last week, and now he's back in Avondale after his experience meeting Ellen Degeneres and receiving a $25,000 check from the show and Walmart to continue spreading his message of positivity.
The life decision he made three years ago saved his life and gave him national attention to help others struggling with obesity around the country.
"A lot of butterflies, being on 'Ellen,'" he said. "My first thing is I'm going to be doing a bodybuilding show in June. We can talk to people, give them nutrition ideas, workout ideas. No matter how far gone you are, you can take your body and your health to a place that you've never been."
As for his motivation, he didn't have to look very far.
"I didn't want to not be there for my kids. I didn't want to give up anymore. I wanted to finally make the change," he said. "Just the other day, I posted a picture of playing with my son on the floor. At 600 pounds, I couldn't do that. I couldn't bend down, I couldn't get up. It was hard for me just to walk, and I'm just so happy that I made the change because I know he's going to appreciate it. I know in the future, I might live longer to spend time with him, to watch him grow up, to spend time with his dad."
He also said he's gotten positive feedback from those inspired by his story.
"A lot of people have been reaching out to me through my social media," he said. "I had a guy tell me I helped him lose 100 pounds, that I'd saved his life."
