PHOENIX - Police and emergency animal medical personnel removed more than 30 animals from a Phoenix rescue location Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Arizona Humane Society, Phoenix police got a warrant to search the home where the Wiggle Butts Dog Rescue is located, near Loop 101 and 7th Street in north Phoenix.
In total, there were 23 dogs and 10 cats removed from the home, according to police.
Ashliegh Goebel, a spokesperson for the Arizona Humane Society, said the animals were "injured, thin, sick and tick infested and had hair loss."PHOTOS: Dogs taken from Phoenix rescue

Goebel said the humane society would examine the dogs, and they're hopeful to save as many of them as possible.
Police said there could be criminal charges forthcoming depending on the animals' medical results.
