Police investigating sexual misconduct allegations against Tempe city councilman

City councilman Kolby Granville was fired last week after an investigation into reports that he gave two underage women alcohol and made improper sexual advances against one of the young women.

A Tempe councilman is now under criminal investigation for allegations that led to his dismissal from a teaching position.

Phoenix police said Monday that they are investigating allegations against Tempe City Councilmember Kolby Granville.

Granville was fired last week from his teaching job at Tempe Preparatory Academy after an investigation into reports that he gave two underage women alcohol and made improper sexual advances against one of the young women.

The Tempe Police Department asked Phoenix police to investigate the claims due to a potential conflict of interest.

Granville did not respond to any initial request for comments. He said he never served alcohol to an underage drinker and denied the allegation of sexual misconduct.
