PHOENIX - Don’t count on a gloomy Halloween this year. Phoenix probably won’t get any rain this October, according to the National Weather Service.

That may not seem too strange to some. After all, the monsoon is over.

But according to NWS Phoenix, the last time the city saw a rainless October was 18 years ago, back in 1999.

For those who are curious, the most rain we’ve ever gotten in the month of October was 4.4 inches in 1972.

Because of the La Niña pattern in the Pacific Ocean, we're probably looking at more dry, sunny weather throughout fall and winter.
