PHOENIX - Phoenix police said Tuesday they are searching for information regarding a possible hoax involving a child seen yelling for help from a car's trunk.

According to police, officers were called to the area of 2300 N. 88th Avenue in Phoenix at approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday. Witnesses had reported seeing what appeared to be a child yelling for help from the trunk of a white four-door sedan that stopped in the area.

Responding officers obtained surveillance video from the scene which showed the white car, occupied by two men, come to a stop as the trunk pops open. The passenger quickly gets out of the car, shuts the trunk and the men drive off.

Police say there is no additional vehicle or license plate information to report.

According to police, reports of the incident circulated on social media and, at this point, they have not received any reports of missing or endangered children related to the case.
