PHOENIX - A Phoenix "urban search-and-rescue" team is now on stand-by to head to the Southeast and help those hit by Hurricane Matthew.
The Phoenix Fire Department said Arizona Task Force Team 1 is ready to go if the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) needs them.
Thus far, a state of emergency has been declared in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina in advance of the storm making landfall in the United States.
It's expected to reach Florida Friday morning, bringing damaging winds of up to 145 miles per hour.
According to NBC News, 114 people have already been killed by Hurricane Matthew in the Caribbean as it has made its way through the region.
