According to a new analysis from Sperling's Best Places, it's a long shot for the Valley to land Amazon's coveted second headquarters. In fact, the analysis says HQ2 is headed to a city on the other side of the country from the Phoenix area.

"Trust us - it's going to be Atlanta," Sperling's said.

Although not official (obviously),Sperling's says its team collected 18 of the "most reputable" lists and rankings of potential HQ2 locations. From there, Sperling's gave each location a score and compiled a list of the top 64 contenders.

Several Valley cities, including Phoenix, Mesa and Chandler, reportedly submitted proposals to Amazon trying to persuade the e-commerce giant to build its second headquarters in the Valley.

Phoenix landed at No. 25 while Tucson was No. 46 -- the only two Arizona cities to make the list.

Amazon's current headquarters, Seattle, was No. 28.

Atlanta was No. 1 followed by Boston, Chicago and Philadelphia.

The Wall Street Journal -- which was not added to Sperling's analysis -- had Dallas as the front runner for HQ2.
