PHOENIX- Over 48 units used large master streams from ladders to combat a fire at a paper mill near 30th and Washington streets Sunday afternoon, Phoenix Fire Department said.

Phoenix police were on scene and reported the fire, according to Phoenix FD.

Fire crews remained on scene for sometime breaking up the piles of cardboard and paper, Phoenix FD said. Crews used front loaders to assist in putting out the fire.

Due to the heat, crews rotated during the extended operation, Phoenix FD said.
