Mesa police have arrested a 16-year-old boy Thursday suspected of breaking into a home on July 2, threatening a woman with an ax and demanding cash.

The teen was taken into custody on one count of burglary, armed robbery, aggravated assault, and two counts of third degree burglary.

The suspect was identified using surveillance footage from the home.

Because he is under 18 years of age, police are not releasing his name or booking photo.

Erika Grijalva recounted the scary Sunday incident in a Facebook post.

"I feel letting others know what I went through today may hopefully keep others safe and hopefully bring me some solace," she wrote.
