MESA, Ariz. - The Mesa Police Department is investigating two unrelated homicides that happened overnight.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting in the area of 300 E. 8th Drive around 8 p.m. Thursday.

Officers found two victims, 31-year-old Jorge Alcantar deceased and an injured 45-year-old woman. She was treated and released, police said.

Police said the alleged shooter is a man and is still at large.

The suspect and victims knew each other, according to police.

Mesa officers also responded to a reported assault around 3:30 a.m. Friday in the area of 1464 S. Stapley Drive.

Police found 20-year-old Christian Camarena dead. A possible suspect is being investigated, police said.

Mesa PD did not release suspect information or the names of the victims in either incident.
