GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Two Goodyear police officers are recovering after being injured while pursuing a burglary suspect Monday afternoon.

A release from the Goodyear Police Department Tuesday said one officer suffered head and arm injuries from a tight screen gate. The other was bitten on the leg by a police K-9.

Officers were able to arrest Robert Gastelum, 21, who they were chasing in the area of Pebble Creek Parkway and McDowell Road in Goodyear.

Gastelum was also injured in the incident, though the release does not say how. He was released from the hospital and into police custody.

He was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail on aggravated assault, burglary, resisting arrest and trespassing charges.

Goodyear police are still searching for several people involved in this case, one of whom may be a woman in her early 30s. Police said she was last seen driving a white GMC or Dodge extended-cab truck.

The others are described as men in their late teens or early 20s.
